Recently, the "President 100," a transport vessel powered by 100% biofuel (B100) and core-powered by Weichai, was officially launched in Singapore. This marks a significant milestone in a joint B100 pilot project involving Weichai, the China Classification Society (CCS) Singapore Branch, Nanyang Technological University"s Maritime Energy and Sustainable Development (MESD) Centre, and Pinnacle Marine, signaling the official start of the B100 continuous operational validation phase for real ships.

  The vessel was built by the local Singaporean shipyard Pinnacle Marine. It is 16 meters long and equipped with two Weichai WP13C450-18BF marine main engines and two CCFJ20J-W5BF marine generator sets. The vessel will undergo a 1,000-hour continuous sea trial within the port waters of Singapore, aimed at evaluating the performance, emission characteristics, and reliability of B100 biodiesel under long-term operating conditions.

  B100 biodiesel serves as one of the key solutions for the shipping industry to achieve net-zero emissions. By optimizing combustion efficiency and reducing emissions, Weichai’s B100 pure biodiesel marine propulsion system not only helps improve vessel environmental indices but also provides a new green transition pathway for global shipping enterprises.

  The project’s implementation will provide data support for establishing standards for B100 marine bunkering, storage, and handling, and will serve as a significant benchmark project for the Singapore shipping industry’s progress toward net-zero emissions.
